I believe stories have power. They connect us, inspire us, and change the way we see the world. But too many voices go unheard. That’s why I’m here—to change that.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne and raised in the original Washington, Tyne & Wear, I grew up in a family with English, Scottish, Irish, and Polish roots. With an NHS nurse for a mother and an engineer for a father, I learned early on that hard work, creativity, and resilience could shape lives. Now, I use those same values to empower others through storytelling and media.
That’s why I founded Urban Voices Community Media Ltd.—not just a company, but a platform for people to be heard. Through broadcasting, media training, and creative projects, we help people step up, speak out, and take control of their own narratives.
I’ve always been drawn to the power of stories—whether in music, film, or history. I’m learning guitar, diving into rock and pop, and constantly inspired by films that challenge and transport you—like Blade Runner, Apollo 13, and The Shawshank Redemption. My love for history runs deep, too. Researching my ancestry uncovered a 9,000-year lineage that connects me to legends like Ivar the Boneless and Leif Erikson—a reminder that every story, including our own, is part of something bigger.
My journey into broadcasting started in the mid-’90s with a four-week RSL radio gig that changed everything. That short experience flipped a switch in me. I knew I wanted to create something bigger—a space where anyone, no matter their background, could grab the mic, own their story, and be heard.
That’s what Urban Voices Community Media is all about. It’s not just about media—it’s about people. It’s about voices that deserve to be heard, communities coming together, and the power of storytelling to change lives.
Ready to be part of something bigger? Let’s make some noise.
